Information You Provide
Search Terms
When you type a name, county, state, or other detail into a search tool, that query may be sent to the outside provider that powers the tool. Washington County Inmate Population does not keep its own stored log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and manage the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, this site may collect basic technical information when pages load.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site traffic, remember technical preferences, and measure how visitors use pages. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but some site functions or partner tools may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the right partner service.
- To understand which Washington County record pages visitors use most.
- To detect errors, broken links, and other technical issues.
- To display advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail information, court portals, corrections locators, VINELink, federal resources, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy of the other website controls how your information is handled.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure ad views or activity across websites. That tracking is controlled by those partners, not by the Washington County pages here.

Personal information is not sold as a standalone list. It may be available to limited service providers or authorities in these situations:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics services that measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Measures
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through the site. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed against every error, breach, or unauthorized access attempt.
